  • All that happened today was a court ruled gay marriages could not resume until the appeal is heard. It was a Federal Court that found Prop 8 a violation of equal protection. SCOTUS will find the same, IF it gets there.

  • The Courts are there to decide the constitutionality of laws. You could start a referendum on anything and it might pass overwhelmingly, or a law might pass overwhelmingly in the legislature. If the law is not Constitutional, it will be struck down.

  • Blah blah Blah. I played Little League 1972-74 and we all emulated our favorite major leaguers, even in pickup games. I always wanted the Williamsport experience but never got there. Let them enjoy their brief time in the sun.

  • Since Judge Kennisaw Landis banned the Black Sox it has been clear tht betting on the game, regardless of which team is a lifetime ban. They have him on audio tape doing just that. He denied it for years and only admitted it when he needed to hawk a book.

  • There are examples of dominant pitchers putting up Cy Young seasons on crappy teams. Tom Seaver and Steve Carlton come to mind. Carlton was 27-10 on a Phillies team that only won 58 games.

  • the nationals aren't bad on defense. excellence is era and whip. you are right, it will be a challenge to win more than 15 for the nats. His contract is I think four years.

  • He will be pretty good for two years and begin dominating consistently his 3rd year. phemonical is not a word. None of you clowns has seen him pitch. Velocity is only a small part of why he is so good. He avergaed over 16 K's per 9 innings this year. The second best in NCAA history.

  • Doubt it. He has already proven his mettle as one of the few amatuers on the Olympic team. He arrived in college as a not that sought after recruit, a fat 6" 4" 260 lb who threw hard ( low 90's).
